Train as a driving instructor in Stockport, Altrincham and Sale, with Atlantic Star Driving School
Want to train to become an instructor? We are a friendly, family-run driving school based in Stockport, offering training for potential driving instructors.
Our courses are tailored around your needs, enabling you to work during training, so there is no loss of income to yourself. You will need to have had a full driving licence for 4 or more years.
It is not essential that you have a clean driving licence but there must be no disqualifications during the past 4 years.
There are 3 separate examinations that you need to pass to become an ADI (fully qualified instructor):
Part 1: A multiple choice Theory Test and a Hazard Perception Test
Topics included in the above are: Highway Code Knowledge, Driving and Teaching Techniques, Driving Law & Hazard Awareness.
Part 2: A Practical Driving Test
This test will be held at a nominated DVSA test centre. The 10 hour, one to one training sessions we provide ensure that you are ready for the Part II Test.
Part 3: Instructional Ability Test
This test will also be conducted at a nominated DVSA test centre. The 40 hour, one to one training focuses mainly on practical in-car teaching skills, and fully prepares you for the test of instructional ability. All training materials, reference manuals, workbooks and in-car training, are included in the training we provide, plus telephone support from your trainer and the office.
For those that are qualified, we have franchise opportunities available. Also, in some circumstances, we can offer you a position on a Trainee Licence.
We like to offer everyone who is interested in our company the opportunity to come in and have an informal chat. This way, you can meet the training team and the office staff.
The decision is down to you. There are no deadlines set and whenever you feel ready to start we are here to help.
